The Experience

What is Illuminarium? What is this experience?

From exhilarating natural wonders to enriching cultural moments and beyond, Illuminarium delivers a sensory experience like no other by fully immersing you in the world’s most extraordinary experiences.

The attraction is brought to life through an unprecedented blend of 4K laser projection providing guests a connected and shared entertainment journey. Audio beams create a unique and precise sound experience for each individual. In-floor haptics produce realistic sensations for visitors, such as the ground-shaking with an elephant’s stomp or leaving a footprint on the moon as you walk. The experience even has scent, adding authentic enhancement to the immersive experience. Our cinematic immersion will place you into the middle of the narrative unfolding around you. This is achieved without wearable hardware of any kind - this is not a 3D or 4D experience.

Strobe effects, gentle floor vibration, immersive sound, and realistic & responsive projection are all part of the experience, but nothing is intended to be frightening or disorienting. The intensity of the various elements will depend on the featured spectacle.

The attraction experience takes place completely indoors.

How long should I plan to spend in the Illuminarium?

We estimate your experience inside the attraction will last approximately 45-60 minutes.

Is there seating inside Illuminarium?

Within the attraction, you can move around the experience at your leisure and have free range throughout. We encourage you to walk around to experience all of the elements, however there is limited seating available if desired. The experience takes place in a space of approximately 10,000 square feet – from end to end it is approximately 220 feet.

How long will each show be featured? Are there other shows?

The shows are limited engagements and will change frequently. Seasonal experiences may also be offered throughout the year. We encourage guests to follow us on social media for announcements.

Does Illuminarium offer a nighttime experience?

Our 21+ Adults Only experience, Illuminarium After Dark, is available on select nights. The beauty of our daytime attraction experience transforms into an adults-only escape. This premium experience includes one signature cocktail from the bar inside the venue. Tickets can be purchased at our main Buy Tickets page.

Do I have to wear any goggles or headphones inside the Illuminarium?

There is no wearable hardware of any kind required to enjoy Illuminarium. Our cutting-edge technology will be all you need to be fully-immersed in the experience.

Do you offer any food or beverage options?
Yes! Lumin Cafe & Kitchen serves creative American cuisine all day, including a late night menu for our Illuminarium After Dark guests. The Lumin patio features a covered seating area and full bar serving specialty cocktails. You can also order food on the patio.

We suggest allowing one hour for dining, before or after your experience.



During Illuminarium After Dark, bars are located inside the experience. We also offer bottle service on Friday & Saturday nights (beginning Summer 2022)

Do I need a ticket to visit Lumin Cafe or sit on the patio?
No, we do not require a ticket to visit Lumin Cafe & Kitchen or enjoy our extensive covered patio.

If you are visiting the attraction, we suggest allowing one hour for dining, before or after your experience.

Tickets

Do I need a ticket to enter Illuminarium?

If you have celebrated your 3rd birthday, you are required to have a ticket to enter the attraction.

Do I need to purchase my ticket in advance?

We strongly recommend purchasing your timed tickets online ahead of time, as this is the only way to guarantee entry for your desired day and time, however you may purchase in person at the box office upon arrival.


How do timed tickets work? What are timed tickets?

Your admission is reserved for the date and time printed on the ticket. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your ticketed time and proceed to the main lobby. Our All-Inclusive Experience and After Dark Experience offer Flexible Entry Time. To learn about our various ticket packages, click here and choose the experience you are interested in attending.

What if I arrive later than my entry time?

Late arrivals will be accommodated based on capacity – you may be required to wait until the first possible open time slot. We encourage you to arrive at your scheduled time to avoid any delays. In the event a guest arrives late for the purchased ticket time, the Illuminarium team will make all possible accommodations to offer the guest the next available showing on a first come first serve basis. If unable to reschedule, all unused tickets lose validity upon the closing of Illuminarium on the date for which the ticket was purchased, unless otherwise stated or agreed to by Illuminarium management. Any decision related to extended or altered validity of admissions is wholly at Illuminarium Management’s discretion.

What is your cancellation policy? Can I reschedule my tickets to another date/time?

Illuminarium does not offer refunds for your tickets – tickets must be used on the date/time printed on your ticket unless exchanged up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled timeslot. Unused tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.


You may modify the date and/or time of your ticket up to 4 hours in advance of your time slot by visiting your booking portal. Use your order number and the email address used when purchasing to log in, Select the experience that you need to change from the list on the left hand side of the screen, Select your new date/time, Click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the screen. Your tickets will be automatically updated to reflect your new selection.

Can I upgrade my ticket?

You may upgrade your tickets at the box office upon arrival to Illuminarium on the day of your visit.

Why does my All-Inclusive ticket only have one time printed on it?
Your All-Inclusive ticket gives you flexible entry for any time during the daytime attraction hours. The experience will last approximately 45-60 minutes. Please note that the All-Inclusive ticket is not valid for entry to Illuminarium After Dark.
Do I have to print my ticket?

No, we can scan your ticket directly from your mobile device.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, please visit our Groups page to learn about the benefits of booking groups of 10+.

Do you offer military discounts?
Active Duty and Reserve members of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as Military Retirees will receive discounted admission for next available entry when they present their valid Armed Forces ID card at our Ticketing Counter.
Please note that discounted admission applies to the service member and up to 3 additional family members or guests. Discounted tickets may not be available for all events and offerings. Management reserves the right to change or suspend this discount at any time.
Do you offer Nevada resident discounts?
Nevada residents with valid Nevada photo ID will receive discounted admission. Billing zip code will be verified during the checkout process and you must present your valid Nevada photo ID upon arrival.

Do you offer gift certificates?
At this time, we do not offer gift certificates.

Groups

What is considered a group?
Groups of 10 or more, including but not limited to tour groups, schools, scouts, camps, family reunions, social groups, and employee outings.
How do we make a reservation?
If you are a group of 10-50, you can purchase tickets on the groups page of our website.

If you are a school field trip group or are looking for customized options for your group, please fill out our inquiry form and a Group Sales Representative will provide more information.

How will we receive our tickets?
You will receive a confirmation email once your reservation has been paid. Please show that email at the Box Office to receive your tickets. You do not need to print anything prior to arrival.
Can we make changes to our ticket order or reservation upon arrival at Illuminarium?
All group sales ticket orders and reservations must be paid in advance and any changes must be made with the Group Sales Department prior to your visit.
What is included in the ticket price?
All tickets include admission to Illuminarium. We offer various ticket options, so please ask your Group Sales representative for more information.
Can group tickets be purchased the day of our visit?
Same day tickets can be purchased on our website. We recommend you book at least one day in advance to guarantee ticket availability. Group discount pricing will not be available unless purchased in advance.
We have our tickets. What do we do when we arrive?
If you already have your tickets, you may proceed to the main entrance of Illuminarium to begin your experience. If you only have your email confirmation, please go to the Box Office to pick up your tickets.
How do timed tickets work?
Your admission time is reserved for the date and time printed on your ticket. Please arrive a few minutes prior to your scheduled time and proceed to the Illuminarium entrance.
What if we are running late?
You may enter Illuminarium up to 15 minutes after the time printed on your ticket. If you arrive later, you may need to pay a rebooking fee. Allow extra time for ride share transportation and parking.
Is Illuminarium accessible for guests with limited mobility?
Illuminarium is ADA compliant and is wheelchair accessible via access from the main parking lot.
Are pets allowed?
No animals are permitted into or on the property of Illuminarium. Exceptions to this policy are limited to (1) service animals and service animals in training; and (2) police or other certified assistance animals will be permitted by a qualified handler on official business.
Can we take pictures?
Yes, we encourage guests to take photos and videos with hand-held devices during your visit. No professional photography allowed. And don’t forget to tag us! @illuminariumlv
Can we bring food or drinks?
No outside food or beverages may be brought in to Illuminarium.
What is the refund policy? What if some of our group do not attend?
Illuminarium does not offer refunds for your tickets – tickets must be used on the date/time printed on your ticket. Unused tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
How much time do we need to visit Illuminarium?
We suggest allowing 60 minutes for your Illuminarium experience.
Is there a gift shop at Illuminarium?
Yes, the Illuminarium Shop offers a wide variety of specialty items to commemorate your visit.
What is the appropriate age range for guests visiting Illuminarium?
Illuminarium is appropriate for guests of all ages.
Do you offer guided tours?
Illuminarium offers a Tour Guide as an add-on to group tickets. Please inquire with your Group Sales Representative.
Does Illuminarium provide motor coach/bus parking?
Yes, we have limited parking available onsite. Please speak with a group sales representative to confirm accommodations.
Is there an ATM available at Illuminarium?
No, Illuminarium does not have an ATM on property. Cash is not needed for any reason inside Illuminarium.
Do you offer discounts for military or first responders or Nevada local residents?
Illuminarium does offer a discount for members of the military and Nevada local residents at the Box Office only with valid ID. Military discount and Nevada local discount cannot be combined with the group discount.
Do children aged 2 and under require a ticket?
No, children 2 and under do not require a ticket for the Standard Admission.
Can we change our reservation?
If you booked your group through the Group Sales department, we can change your reservation to a mutually agreeable date/time up until the final payment is due. If you need to purchase additional tickets after your final payment, you may do so up to 48 hours prior to your visit at the discounted group rate. After the 48-hour point, you may purchase additional tickets at the box office at full price. Admission is not guaranteed for the same time for tickets purchased outside of the group reservation.

Where are you located?

We are located at 3246 W. Desert Inn Road Las Vegas, Nevada 89102 on the AREA15 campus, in a standalone building next to the main AREA15 building. You can access our building from the AREA15 parking lot.

Is there parking at Illuminarium?

Free Parking is available at the AREA15 complex - please allow extra time for parking, particularly Friday-Sunday, holidays and days with special events. We recommend taking a rideshare like Lyft or Uber or a taxi.

What is the recommended age to visit Illuminarium?

All Ages are welcome at Illuminarium. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and children under the age of 3 are not required to have a ticket.

While we have realistic projection and loud sounds (like thunder), there are no moments meant to be intentionally frightening. Some experiential aspects of the attraction may be overwhelming for younger children.
If your child is easily overwhelmed or scared, the Illuminarium team recommends you have enough adults in the group to deal with a possible departure of one adult to assist the infant, which requires another adult to remain with any additional children 12 and under.

Illuminarium After Dark is open to 21+ only and valid government-issued ID must be presented prior to entry.

What family-friendly amenities do you provide?

Our Family Restroom contains a diaper changing station.

Are strollers permitted inside Illuminarium?

Yes. Illuminarium does not offer storage for unused strollers. Wagons or other similar equipment are not permitted.

Is the Illuminarium ADA accessible?

Yes. There is dedicated parking ADA parking and a ramp into the front entrance.

There are no stairs inside the Illuminarium attraction, and all height transitions meet ADA requirements. As the attraction is a walking and standing experience, guests using wheelchairs may request support from any Illuminarium team member to ensure they receive assistance in finding a location where their line of sight is not disrupted by others. Illuminarium is committed to assist in these scenarios, although we cannot guarantee the behavior and consideration of all visitors. There is also limited seating inside the attraction. Are animals allowed inside Illuminarium?
Service animals are welcome at Illuminarium. Animals who do not meet the definition of a service animal as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will not be permitted in any areas of our facility.

While visiting, Guests who use service animals must retain control of their animals at all times and should keep them properly leashed, harnessed, or otherwise under the control of the handler as defined by law. Any show of hostile behavior towards other Guests or our Team Members is unacceptable. Service animals may not be handled by or left with Team Members.

Emotional support animals and other animals are not permitted.
Do you have wheelchairs available for rent?
We are a fully accessible facility, and you are welcome to bring your own wheelchair. No rentals are available.
What do I do if I have any questions about accessibility / special accommodations?

Is photography/videography allowed?

Personal photography is allowed, and we recommend turning off your flash for the best photos. No professional photography, tripods, or videography of any kind are permitted.

Is outside food & drink permitted?

Outside food or drink are not permitted in the attraction unless specifically agreed to by Illuminarium management for a special event.

What items are prohibited at Illuminarium?

Firearms or any other type of weapon (knives, box cutters, nun-chucks, mace, pepper spray, stun guns or tasers, laser pointers or any other potential weapon determined at the discretion of an Illuminarium representative) are not permitted on Illuminarium premises. Fireworks are strictly forbidden.

No bicycles, scooters, tricycles, skate boards, roller/in-line skates or shoes with wheels (wheelies) are permitted on the Illuminarium premises.

Illuminarium welcomes guests using power-driven mobility devices. Due to the nature of the attraction’s general layout, design and available space, the use of motorized equipment like Segways and electric scooters is prohibited on Illuminarium’s premises.

What COVID policies do you have in place?

Illuminarium follows all current CDC Guidelines.

Additionally, PureAir ARC Technology is utilized throughout Illuminarium. This is an air purification technology developed by NASA for the International Space Station that is not only able to instantly kill pathogens via UVc light but also provide a continuous disinfection through oxidizing molecules in our air and on surfaces throughout the day.
