What is Illuminarium? What will I Experience?

From exhilarating natural wonders to enriching cultural moments and beyond, Illuminarium delivers a sensory experience like no other.Illuminarium is brought to life through an unprecedented blend of 4K laser projection providing guests a connected and shared entertainment journey, audio beams creating a unique and precise sound experience for each individual, in-floor haptics producing realistic sensations for visitors, and even scent, adding authentic enhancement to the immersive experience. Our cinematic immersion will place you into the middle of the narrative unfolding around you. This is achieved with no wearable hardware of any kind - this is not a 3D or 4D experience.Strobe effects, gentle floor vibration, immersive sound, and realistic & responsive projection may all be part of the show you experience, but nothing is intended to be frightening or disorienting. The intensity of the various elements will depend on the featured show.The experience takes place completely indoors within two rooms. Our café offers an outdoor patio that opens directly onto the BeltLine.

Does Illuminarium offer 21+ Experiences?

Illuminarium After Dark is available Thursday-Sunday evenings. "After Dark" experiences are an adults-only version of our daytime attraction. Ticket inclusions depend on the show and can be purchased on our booking page.

Is there seating inside Illuminarium?

You can move around the experience at your leisure and have free range throughout. There is seating to enjoy the experience from a different perspective if desired. The experience takes place in a space of 10,000 square feet – from end to end, the space is approximately 220 feet long.

Do I need to wear headphones or goggles?

There is no wearable hardware of any kind required to enjoy Illuminarium. Our cutting-edge technology will be all you need to be fully-immersed in the experience.

Are there Live Animals at Illuminarium?

WILD: A Safari Experience was filmed on location in Africa, and all animals are being projected in a 360-degree environment. No live animals are part of this experience.


Groups

What is considered a group?

Groups of 10 or more, including but not limited to tour groups, schools, scouts, camps, family reunions, social groups, and employee outings.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

To purchase 10-19 tickets, please navigate to your show of choice and select groups. To purchase 20 or more fill out the form located on our groups page.

How will we receive our tickets?

You will receive a confirmation email once your reservation has been paid. Please show that email at the Box Office to receive your tickets. You do not need to print anything prior to arrival.

Can we make changes to our tickets or orders once arriving at Illuminarium?

All group sales ticket orders and reservations must be paid in advance and any changes must be made with the Group Sales Department prior to your visit.

What is included in the ticket price?

Your admission is reserved for the date and time printed on the ticket. Arrive at your specified time and proceed to the main lobby. Our All-Inclusive Experience offers All Day Access - come at any time during the daytime hours on the date printed on your ticket!

Can group tickets be purchased the day of our visit?

Same day tickets can be purchased on our website. We recommend you book at least one day in advance to guarantee ticket availability. Group discount pricing will not be available unless purchased in advance.

We have our tickets. What do we do when we arrive?

If you already have your tickets, you may proceed to the main entrance of Illuminarium to begin your experience. If you only have your email confirmation, please go to the Box Office to pick up your tickets.

How do timed tickets work?

Your admission time is reserved for the date and time printed on your ticket. Please arrive a few minutes prior to your scheduled time and proceed to the Illuminarium entrance.

What if we are running late?

You may enter Illuminarium up to 15 minutes after the time printed on your ticket. If you arrive later, you may need to pay a rebooking fee. Allow extra time for parking.

Is Illuminarium accessible for guests with limited mobility?

Illuminarium is ADA compliant and is wheelchair accessible via access from the BeltLine as well as the main parking lot.

Are pets allowed?

No animals are permitted into or on the property of Illuminarium. Exceptions to this policy are limited to (1) service animals and service animals in training; and (2) police or other certified assistance animals will be permitted by a qualified handler on official business.

Can we take pictures?

Yes, we encourage guests to take photos and videos with hand-held devices during your visit. No professional photography is allowed. And don’t forget to tag us @illuminariumATL!

Can we bring outside food or drinks?

No outside food or beverages may be brought in to Illuminarium. We offer an on-site café if you would like to dine during your visit.

What is the refund policy? What if some of our group do not attend?

Illuminarium does not offer refunds for your tickets – tickets must be used on the date/time printed on your ticket.

How much time do we need to visit Illuminarium?

We suggest allowing 45-60 minutes for your Illuminarium experience. And be sure to allow time to visit the Illuminarium Café and Shop.

Do you offer dining options for groups?

Yes, we offer take-away box lunches as well as our Café for food and beverage options.

Is there a gift shop at Illuminarium?

Yes, the Illuminarium Shop offers a wide variety of specialty items to commemorate your visit.

What is the appropriate age range for guests visiting Illuminarium?

Illuminarium is appropriate for guests of all ages.

Do you offer guided tours?

For WILD, Illuminarium offers a Safari Guide as an add-on to group tickets purchased. We also offer a ticket option with a Guidebook for behind the scenes information about your safari.

Does Illuminarium provide motor coach/bus parking?

Yes, we have limited parking available onsite for large transportation vehicles.

Is there an ATM available at Illuminarium?

No, Illuminarium does not have an ATM on property. Cash is not needed for any reason inside Illuminarium.

What is the appropriate age range for guests visiting Illuminarium?

Illuminarium is appropriate for guests of all ages.

Do children aged 2 and under require a ticket?

No, children 2 and under do not require a ticket for the Standard Experience.

Can we change our reservation?

If you booked your group through the Group Sales department, we can change your reservation to a mutually agreeable date/time up until the final payment is due. If you need to purchase additional tickets after your final payment, you may do so up to 48 hours prior to your visit at the discounted group rate. After the 48-hour point, you may purchase additional tickets at the box office at full price. Admission is not guaranteed for the same time for tickets purchased outside of the group reservation.

Where are you located?

We are located at 550 Somerset Terrace in the Common Ground complex between TWO Urban Licks and New Realm Brewery on the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine. We are walking distance from Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market.

Is there parking at Illuminarium?

We are located on the very busy Atlanta BeltLine - please allow extra time for parking, particularly Friday-Sunday!

On site parking is Valet Only ($3 for Illuminarium visitors with proof of admission presented to valet. Illuminarium does not validate). There are additional paid public lots in walking distance of Illuminarium (view a map here):

What is the recommended age to visit Illuminarium?

All Ages are welcome at Illuminarium. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and children under the age of 3 are not required to have a ticket.While we have realistic projection and loud sounds (like thunder or a rocket launch), there are no moments meant to be intentionally frightening. Some experiential aspects of the attraction may be overwhelming for younger children.If your child is easily overwhelmed or scared, the Illuminarium team recommends you have enough adults in the group to deal with a possible departure of one adult to assist the child.Illuminarium After Dark is open to 21+ only and valid government-issued ID must be presented prior to entry.

What family-friendly amenities to you provide?

Our Family Restroom contains a diaper changing station and is located inside the Illuminarium Café.

Are strollers permitted inside Illuminarium?

Yes. Illuminarium does not offer storage for unused strollers. Wagons or other similar equipment are not permitted.

Is Illuminarium ADA accessible?

Yes. There is dedicated parking in the public lot behind Illuminarium with a ramp to enter the breezeway and proceed to the opposite end to our main entrance.There are no stairs in the Illuminarium attraction, and all height transitions meet ADA requirements. As the attraction encourages walking and standing to get the full experience, guests using wheelchairs may request support from any Illuminarium team member to ensure they receive assistance in finding a location where their line of sight is not disrupted by others. Illuminarium is committed to assist in these scenarios, although we cannot guarantee the behavior and consideration of all visitors. There is also limited seating inside the attraction.

Are service animals allowed inside Illuminarium?

Service animals are welcome at Illuminarium. Animals who do not meet the definition of a service animal as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will not be permitted in any areas of our facility.

While visiting, Guests who use service animals must retain control of their animals at all times and should keep them properly leashed, harnessed, or otherwise under the control of the handler as defined by law. Any show of hostile behavior towards other Guests or our Team Members is unacceptable. Service animals may not be handled by or left with Team Members.

Emotional support animals and other animals are not permitted.

Are you a sensory-inclusive location?

YES! We are a KultureCity Certified Sensory-Inclusive Venue. For all the details on what this certification means and how we can make your visit an enjoyable one, please visit Illuminarium's Official Page on KultureCity.

Do you have wheelchairs available for rent?

We are a fully accessible facility, and you are welcome to bring your own wheelchair. No rentals are available.

Miscellaneous

What are your hours?

While our standard operating hours are 11AM-5PM, daily hours and closures may vary. Our 21+ Experience, Illuminarium After Dark, is available Thursday-Sunday evenings beginning at 6:30PM.

How do I book my corporate event, party or other private event at Illuminarium?

Does Illuminarium offer an educational program for schools?

Visit our Groups page to request more information on the STEAM-based curriculum we offer for grades K-12.

Is photography allowed?

Personal photography is allowed, and we recommend turning off your flash for the best photos. No professional photography, tripods, or videography of any kind are permitted.

Is outside food and drink permitted?

Outside food or drink are not permitted in the attraction, in our café, or on the café patio unless specifically agreed to by Illuminarium management. When dining with us, guests are invited to let our team members know of specific dietary requirements or food allergies in advance of ordering.

What items are prohibited at Illuminarium?

Firearms or any other type of weapon (knives, box cutters, nun-chucks, mace, pepper spray, stun guns or tasers, laser pointers or any other potential weapon determined at the discretion of an Illuminarium representative) are not permitted on Illuminarium premises. Fireworks are strictly forbidden.

No bicycles, scooters, tricycles, skate boards, roller/in-line skates or shoes with wheels (wheelies) are permitted on the Illuminarium premises.

Illuminarium welcomes guests using power-driven mobility devices. Due to the nature of the attraction’s general layout, design and available space, the use of motorized equipment like Segways and electric scooters is prohibited on Illuminarium’s premises.

What COVID policies do you have in place?

The safety of our guests is our number one priority. A thermal temperature check will automatically take each guest’s temperature upon entry. Additionally, PureAir ARC Technology is utilized throughout Illuminarium. This is an air purification technology developed by NASA for the International Space Station that is not only able to instantly kill pathogens via UVC light but also provide a continuous disinfection through oxidizing molecules in our air and on surfaces throughout the day.

Can I get a press pass or be an Illuminarium influencer?

Anything else I should know?

We must keep the temperature low in our immersive spaces to protect our high-powered technology, as they generate a large amount of heat. We recommend bringing a light jacket if you get cold easily.
